3 long years it took for My fave international naturalista and I to finally get to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic but for the 10th annual, Sade we made it! As 2 very detail oriented women, we noticed a lot and luckily for you, I’m feeling all kinds of generous today!

1. A LOT of Rules weren’t meant to be broken: Checking the website and emails on what to bring as well as not to are crucial! Security is tight so anything that is suggested not to bring, don’t even try it honey! Before stepping on the dock, you will walk through a metal detector and have your bag thoroughly checked. Never have I ever seen anyone inspect a bottle of water so closely as all liquids must be sealed and alcohol is not allowed aside from bottles and glasses of Veuve Cliquot available for purchase at the event. Other suggestions included bringing sunscreen (don’t be a lobster, although the lobster rolls were amazing!) and leave the professional equipment at home (i.e.: cameras, tripods & drones), no didn’t mean maybe.

2. Fancy is the game but discomfort will likely put you to shame: People, my people. Everyone came out & showed out. You all looked amazing! It was like Kentucky Derby meets Tri state but ladies, let’s vibe for a quick moment. The heels, they can perfect an outfit during any occasion and if your outfit requires them, make it happen! However, when attending the Polo Classic, you will be advised that there is a 15-20 min walk from the ferry to the event (both ways). We sashayed past some pretty bad almost tragic falls, very patient men, and heels on the ultimate gangsta lean heading back. Sometimes you must endure things for the culture, I totally get it but please bring a pair of comfortable cute walk friendly shoes as well.

3. Mix & Mingle: Anything less than a good time is a crime considering that everyone is there to have one! Bring great company and intend on meeting more, engaging is pretty hard to resist. We met some really nice people on the ferry ride, walking, waiting in lines for food and photo pops, during games, at any given moment really. Bring your business cards and link on social media. You never know who can use your services or may want to accompany you for another event. Great memories are strictly enforced!

4. Ticket Purchases: The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic prices aren’t anywhere close to your everyday movie theater ticket so make it count. With 2017 being the 10 year anniversary, ticket prices doubled what they were in the past. The Rosé Garden made it’s mark at $500 per guest while general admission ran $150 per person. We chose to go a little above general admission prices with Early Access and I would highly recommend it if you can’t find yourself making the Rosé garden purchase. Some of the best perks that I noticed with early access included getting to the grounds quicker, a much shorter wait, first dibs on seating in general admission and really cute foldable Veuve Clicquot blankets which were selling at the booth for $70 alone. If you can, the extra is totally worth it. Otherwise, you will likely have an amazing time anyway.

Bonus anyone? Take advantage and enjoy!: Complimentary carriage bike ride anyone? This was available to get to the grounds quicker and easier which was a lot of fun and provided great views and photo opportunitiesThis year a major sponsor was Smart Water where you could pick up a free bottle of water at any given moment which was important to stay hydrated and to possibly balance out the bubbly! (If necessary).

Have you attended a Vueve Cliquot? If so, which city? What were your favorite moments?

Stay tuned. Stay curious. Be blessed.
